The jacket is from the Debbie Bliss Baby Knits Book, I used RYC Cashsoft Aran which is really lovely and soft and nice to work with (the pattern called for Debbie Bliss cashmerino aran but my lys didn't have it, I think they're nearly the same anyway). It's knit all in one piece so super simple. The pattern has 2 little pockets at the front but I skipped them as they didn't really seem necessary and I thought it might make it a bit lumpy. The neck seemed a little too wide and loose so i crocheted around it to stabilise it a bit which luckily seemed to work out ok. There is a garter stitch hat that goes with the jacket in the book but I wanted to try out some crochet so I used an adult hat pattern from Happy Hooker and altered it as I went so that it would be the right size for my boy.
